Caliphate

The current region occupied the Caliphate is former Takistan (http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-co-takistan/a-2-co-history), historical Persia, and Afghanistan. Over the decades of monarchies, warlords, soviet and other forms of government have tried to wrangle in the wild landscape across this area of the world. After the fall of Al Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS, and other terrorist organizations around the world the Caliphate rose as the final answer. The main goal of the Caliphate is to usher in the final Imam and the end of the world. The Caliphate controls most of the territory on the north of the Persian Gulf. The current leader of the Caliphate is Muhammed Al-Mahdi Ar-Rahman, known locally as Al-Mahdi. He is seen as the bringer of the end.

Emirates

To the south of the gulf is the Emirates. An oil rich monarchy with ties to the very beginning of the regions prominent religion. The area was originally only inhabited by small tribes that would transit across the area. In the first century AD, tribes began to gather around coastal fishing villages. After the birth of the religion a warlord named Jaleel Al-Malik began to conquer local tribes and villages and gained control over the region. The Al-Malik family have ruled the region since. Current leader is Jazeer Kaleed Al-Malik the 53rd Emir or King of the Emirates.

Relationship Between Takistan and Emirates

Historically the region of Takistan and the Emirates have had a rocky relationship. After WW2 the Emirates were supported by allied forces and the United States while Takistan was supported by various Russian and Soviet governments that neighbor it. The Emirates have also been wildly successful and wealthy from large oil reserves that have been discovered. Takistan has historically been a relatively poor and under developed. This has caused issues as Takistanis have emigrated to the Emirates in hopes of a better life. The Emiratis see the Takistanis as a lower class, and the Takistanis resent the Emiratis.

The Calpihate has seized on these issues and rallied the locals in Takistan against the westernized Emirates. The Caliphate had turned to terrorism as a means of striking against the Emirates. Although now the Caliphate is being recognized by regional governments as the legitimate government of the former Takistan region. With this recognition has come investment in a formal military, strategic, and economical assets by outside forces like China, Russia, and others. The Caliphates goals are to turn the region into chaos and usher the end. Russia and China see this as an opportunity to draw the US into a deeper conflict in the area and draw its attention away from other regions around the world.
