Due to increasing conflict between Russia and the US in Syria, the VMFA121 have been transited to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. The squadron is on a stand down notice for the foreseeable future. The VMFA121 will deploy to KPDX in Portland, Oregon in December for Operation Cascadia Rising 2017.
